Once there, they - and the others who came with them - are transformed in various ways. David ends up as a genderless, obedient servant while his wife takes her own place imitating a Greek goddess named Calliope. However, David's path doesn't end there, because soon, he finds himself forced to become the living embodiment of Athena, the goddess of wisdom and battle, patron of heroes.
